Thought.

May the condition of my heart be a reflection of the nature of your love.

"The delusion that human effort can generate mature faith— in young people or anybody else— is as old as fiction itself. Trying to channel God, like trying to channel lightning, kept countless false prophets in business throughout the Hebrew scriptures. Today, we are more likely to view God as a source of fuel than a source of awe as we try to harness divine power for our own use. But ancient people had it right: they hid their faces at the Lord’s approach, and prayed for mercy."

“Let me live with a song in my heart, dear Lord,  Give me faith as I kneel to pray; Let me walk with true hope knowing Thy way is best,  There’s a sun though the sky seems gray. With a song in my heart, with a song in my heart,  Let me live with a song in my heart;  Let me trust day by day, truly trust as I pray,  Let me live with a song in my heart. Let me live with a song in my heart, dear Lord,  Teach my soul to obey Thy will; Just beyond ev’ry mountain of grief and woe  There’s a valley of happiness still. Let me live with a song in my heart, dear Lord,  Till this one bitter storm is past; Though each moment seems now like a thousand years,  Let Thy love hold my anchor fast. With a song in my heart, with a song in my heart, Let me live with a song in my heart;  Let me trust day by day, truly trust as I pray- Let me live with a song in my heart.”

“When your pathway seems the steepest,  When your sorrow seems the deepest,  Cast your ev’ry care on Jesus- He is near. When your broken heart needs mending, When the night seems never ending,  Tell your Saviour all about it- He is near. He will help you climb your mountain,  He has drunk from grief’s own fountain,  Rest assured He understands you- He is near. He can see beyond your sorrow,  Trust His love until tomorrow, He has wisely planned your future- He is near.”

He is near.

On judgment day God won’t ask us about how famous we were, how much money we accumulated, or how well our ministry grew. He will simply ask, “did you learn to love?”
